Running Bamboo

Running Bamboo plants are the best option when tall screening is needed fast in large areas. Running bamboo grows from an underground root system called rhizomes. This allows it to spread quickly and fill in a large area utilizing only a few parent plants. Using a rhizome barrier to control this underground growth can create impressive dense hedges.

NJ Bamboo has for sale running bamboo plants from the Phyllostachys genus that are well adapted to New Jersey's temperate climate. Each plant is hand selected from our managed groves, potted, fertilized and cared for until it has built up a strong root mass.
